Hermanus (Herman) and Oetje den Hollander lived in the nearby forest, about 200 feet from the castle, but nonetheless hid the brothers Jacques and Dagobert Levie from October 1942 until the liberation without asking for any compensation. On June 22, 1971, Yad Vashem recognized Hermanus den Hollander and his wife, Oetje den Hollander-Goudkuil, as Righteous Among the Nations. |
