Greet helped Selma as much as possible and often visited the Jewish Resistance worker in her room in the city of Utrecht. The Brinkhuis family never received any financial remuneration for their efforts. Besides the Brinkhuis family, Selma also owes her life to Willem Storm*, Antje Kroonenberg-Holthuis*, Wilhelmina Lubbe*, and Frans Gerritsen*. In July 1944, Selma was arrested, but she managed to survive Vught and Ravensbrück. On February 5, 1985, Yad Vashem recognized Margaretha Brinkhuis and her parents, Cornelis and Cornelia Brinkhuis, as Righteous Among the Nations.
