Lodeizen took Chaya to the Broekman family in Orten, where she remained until the liberation. The Broekmans received only a small payment for her food and lodging from the Resistance. On May 3, 1982, Yad Vashem recognized Lambertus Broekman and his wife, Roelofje Broekman-de Jonge, as Righteous Among the Nations. |
