Because Franss wife, Dina, had been arrested after Jews were found hiding in her house, Frans decided to find the Polaks shelter elsewhere. Elza was taken to Geertruida van Dijk-Nooter and Emiel hid with Kleijs and Henriette Kroon*. Both of them stayed in these homes for two years, until the end of the war. On June 26, 1980, Yad Vashem recognized Geertruida Maria van Dijk-Nooter as Righteous Among the Nations. |
