Rescue Story
Boer, Johanna Jacoba Maria (Koeman)
In the summer of 1942, Johanna Boer, a teacher, welcomed 24-year-old Wim Polak of Amsterdam into her home. He had previously been hiding with Antje Molenaar (later Treurniet)*. Antje and Johanna were both members of the The Hague Free Groups, a group of teachers who had come together to oppose the Nazi authorities. (See also Weerheijm, Louis and Johanna.)
On June 3, 1982, Yad Vashem recognized Johanna Jacoba Maria Boer-Koeman as Righteous Among the Nations.
