Over and above this, from his pulpit he would remind his congregation of their moral duties toward their fellow human beings. On June 9, 1983, Yad Vashem recognized Rev. Jan Douwes and his wife, Nicoline Henriëtte Douwes-van Doesburgh, as Righteous Among the Nations. |
